Jack Gallifant

Postdoctoral research fellow

Dr. Jack Gallifant is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the AI in Medicine program at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. With a background as a physician in the UK
and experience developing digital healthcare tools for the NHS, Dr. Gallifant now focuses on AI alignment and medical knowledge integration. His research centers on encoding complex medical knowledge into AI frameworks, particularly large language models, to enhance their clinical reasoning capabilities. He also works on improving the robustness of AI models in healthcare, ensuring their reliability across diverse clinical scenarios and patient populations.

Dr. Gallifant's work extends to developing advanced benchmarking tools that assess not only the accuracy but also the transportability and generalization of medical AI models across different healthcare systems. He aims to bridge the gap between theoretical AI advancements and practical clinical applications, focusing on creating scalable systems that can adapt to the expanding complexity of medical knowledge. Through this research, Dr. Gallifant strives to align AI tools with medical expertise, ethical standards, and the dynamic nature of clinical
practice.
