Justin Johnson

Research Scholar

Justin is a PhD student at AIM specializing in deep learning applications in medical imaging. Justin obtained his MSc degree studying Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon University and has completed several applied projects in game theory and deep learning while studying there.

Prior to AIM, Justin worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Defense Analyses where he was responsible for advising federal agencies on the implementation and evaluation of R&D programs. Justin's engineering pursuits are focused on discovering the mechanisms of intelligence that have allowed biological organisms to be successful in general learning and power efficiency. He hopes that by taking this approach, computer systems can become more unsupervised, antifragile, and democratized, which can have a positive impact on various healthcare domains, including early diagnosis and preventative care.
