Lizhou Fan
Postdoctoral research fellow
Lizhou (Leo) Fan, PhD, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the AI in Medicine program at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. He received a Ph.D. in Information from University of Michigan and a B.S. in Statistics from UCLA. With an interdisciplinary background, his research interests span natural language processing (NLP), medical AI, health informatics, social computing, and data science.
His current work focuses on developing and evaluating NLP methods, including advanced language models, specifically for cancer-related applications. His research aims to create models for automated monitoring of the electronic health records (EHR) for immune-related adverse events. His work also involves aligning, evaluating, and democratizing large language models to support patient and clinician education.
