Suraj Pai

Research Scholar

 

Suraj Pai is a research scholar at the AIM program. He is also a research fellow at Harvard Medical School and a second-year PhD candidate at Maastricht University GROW School for Oncology and Developmental Biology. Suraj’s research focuses on applying generalizable and scalable deep learning to develop biomarkers for enhancing precision care in oncology.

He holds a Masters degree in Artificial Intelligence from Maastricht University. Over the course of the degree, he has participated as a student research assistant at MAASTRO Clinic, developing several deep learning pipelines, ranging from contouring to image synthesis, to improve radiation therapy.  

Prior to working in academia, Suraj worked at several startups helping them add Computer Vision and Machine Learning techniques to their arsenal.

Through his experiences in industry and academia, Suraj hopes to leverage best practices from both to produce scalable and reproducible research that can push the medical community forward.
