research fellow
Jirapat Likitlersuang, PhD, is a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School and in the department of radiation oncology at Brigham and Woman's Hospital - Mass General Brigham. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2019. He joined AIM in August 2021 and his research focuses on applying artificial intelligence (AI) to clinical Cancer Imaging. More specifically, this involves the development, optimization, and evaluation of a convolution neural network (CNN) system for a medical imaging platform that utilizes computed tomography (CT) imaging to identify the presence of extranodal extension (ENE) in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
His past post-doctoral research includes a stint at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System where his research focuses on Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic brain injury (TBI) using multiple magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques. Dr. Likitlersuang research interests and experiences include convolution neural networks for biomedical imaging as well as clinical application of machine learning and computer vision.
