Leonard Nürnberg
Research Scholar
Leonard Nürnberg, MSc is a Research Scholar at AIM working on the applications of deep learning in cardiovascular imaging and oncology research. He is enrolled in a PhD program at Maastricht University GROW School for Oncology and Reproduction, The Netherlands. Previously, he was a Research Assistant at Maastro Clinic, the Netherlands, with a focus on medical image segmentation, specifically, the segmentation of cardiac substructures on planning CT using deep learning algorithms which he implemented at Maastro Clinic to improve radiation therapy.
He believes that AI can be the key component that allows us to leverage the ever-growing data streams, but only if we are open to sharing and promoting standards and agreements on semantics and structure.
He has obtained his BSc degree in Information Engineering and Management at the Karlsruhe Institut of Technologies (KIT), Germany and graduated with a MSc degree in Artificial Intelligence at Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
